Bassano 2029: the Promoting Committee and the co-design laboratories have started
Bassano del Grappa continues its nomination as Italian Capital of Culture 2029 with two central steps: the establishment of the Promoting Committee and the start of the co-design workshops. Two moments designed to build the cultural vision of the city and the territory in a shared way, through discussion, participation and strategic planning.
This is promoted by the Municipality of Bassano del Grappa with the support of PTS, an advisor in charge of accompanying the nomination through strategic guidance activities, participatory facilitation and development of the project format. The first meeting of the Promoting Committee took place in the Chilesotti Room of the Civic Museum, gathering the Veneto Region, the Province of Vicenza, institutions, cultural institutions, economic, local associations and academia.
Next to the Committee, the co-design workshops have opened an operating workspace on four thematic areas:
Bassano Futuro: Youth, Contemporaneity and Appeal”;
Bassano Patrimonio: History, Memory and Identity;
Bassano Paesaggio: Territory, Environment and Community;
Bassano Officina: Enterprise, Training and Production.
Over 90 representatives of the cultural, association, educational, professional and economic world participated in the panels, helping to bring out priorities, opportunities, potential and critical issues of the territory.
The nomination is thus built as an open and participatory process, based on listening and collaboration between institutions, communities, cultural operators, businesses and citizens. The objective is to give shape to a credible, inclusive format oriented towards a stable legacy for Bassano del Grappa and the Pedemontana area, capable of combining history, innovation, public spaces, human resources and new projects.

del Grappa has a profound
reason.
The city holds – together with the famous Palladian bridge – the largest collection of works by Antonio Canova in the world together with Possagno, as well as the most important public collection of works by Jacopo Bassano and his workshop. The Civic Museums, among the oldest in Veneto and founded in 1828, also preserve a heritage that spans the centuries and testifies to the richness of the local and national artistic tradition: from Guariento to Lorenzo Lotto, from Artemisia Gentileschi to Giambattista Tiepolo and Francesco Hayez, next to the famous Remondini graphic collections and Bassano ceramics.
